Watch Back Spanners

Hi All

Can anyone tell me please where I can buy watch back spanners? Every retailer has plenty of snap on knives

and Jaxa type openers etc but not many spanners. I do have a set of 5 which is OK for most case backs

but my latest acquisition is a 1958 Cyma which has a back with no less than 12

sides and I have nothing to remove it at least without wrecking the back.

Do you mean this sort of thing. If so this type of tool is old so you could try ebay.

Thats the sort of thing but with one important exception!!!

The spanners in your photo and the set I have all have one thing in common

All are 10 sided... My Cyma is 12

I had a look on ebay under vintage watchmakers tool. There is a only one at the moment but I think that is the place to look.

the adjustable 3 pin tool  will do it.  the good ones are expensive.   cheapy one from ebay will work if the case back is not too tight.   once you get it loose,  leave it loose for pix. or  inspection.  properly tighten it when done.  vinn
