Pressing in case tubes

Recommended Posts

Will be replacing a damaged press-in case tube on a water resistant watch. Is there anything beyond simply pressing in (with correct tool) to this procedure? Any sealants, etc???

Or just press in metal to metal???

+1 on the loctite if you want it to be waterproof. I guess Rogart is referring to loctite 640, which is low viscosity and will therefore wick round to fill any gaps. It will however be hard to remove the tube in future without heating the case to about 250C.
