Dialux Polishing Compounds

Recommended Posts

This may end up being a very foolish question but I'm going to ask it anyway as the internet has failed me on this one so far.

Dialux polishing compound.  It comes in many flavors, Rouge, Bleu, Vert.  Does anyone know which is best for a given use?  I have just about every color as it was on sale and I have a habit of filling my cart when ordering watch supplies online (it's the only way to make the shipping cost sensible). Since I usually work on vintage pieces I'm typically doing some polishing but I haven't been able to find a matrix or "how to" video on this so figuring out which is the best compound for a given job is a bit of trial an error.

Any insight is appreciated!

that 's a great chart, though personally I've never been able to make any use out of blue and in my experience grey is more useful for buffing, moving the metal around than actual polishing/finishing.
