New To Watches

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I'm new to watches, and trying to fix a family heirloom has led me here. I'd appreciate any knowledge and insight you folks have.

My watch collection has been posted under the name A couple of heirloom watches.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Appreciate the support gentlemen.

In the other thread, I was thinking on learning how to machine stuff that I need. I have an old car I have to sometimes cobble up parts for. My grandma gave me these two watches, said I could keep one and the other would go to my cousin.

Since all the cars are working currently, and I'm at a standstill, I figured it would be a good project to get his watch working. I would learn some new skills, maybe make a hobby of it. I have an engineering background, so if something doesn't work, I typically fix it myself, with a few exceptions.

If there is a section that I could show you guys what I have and what I am doing with that watch, I could take pictures and we could make a guide or a build log.  That would probably keep me from screwing something up while I dig into this thing. Let me know if there is interest, and how to start something like that
