My Grandpa's Wrist Watch, May He Rest In Peace

Recommended Posts

i inherited my grandfather's mechanical wrist watch. it is the only one i own and i am somewhat excited to see more about it. he was a smaller man so i can't squeeze into the band. it has a black face and some flourescent marks. it has 12, 9, 6 and three and then accent marks for the other points. he was a chief in the wwii and korea in the navy. on the back "cased and timed by precision watch craftsmen" and there are three stars and like a dipper shaped thing holding the stars.

back continued, "all steel bezel steel back water resistant antimagnetic shock resistant" the band links say speidal pat 2 million something.

Difficult to make any judgments without pictures, but Speidel is a long-standing manufacturer of expanding metal watch wrist bands (among other things), and the case makers, Dennison used sun, moon and stars as case marks for different grades of gold-filled cases.

Just a thought,

Will
