I bought a vintage Seiko watch which was made in the 80sthe only thing wrong with this watch was the cracked crystal. The model number is a914-5809, Do I need to get a special tool to press the crystal on? The shape of the crystal is "shaped". Picture below:

Are there any more reference numbers on the case back. You may have to get one made by the likes of Crystalfit but there are a few new old stock Seiko lens providers in the USA. A lot depends on how much you are prepared to spend. You can find some of these on the bay.

For replacement if I don't know how it's fitted I normally take the workings out and push the lens out to find out how.. Some were glued in some are a push fit from the inside. Does it look like the case overlaps the lens. Is it acrylic or glass ?

Cheers,

I think the model # should be

A914-5A09

If so, crystal part # is

BA2W07LN00

Where do you find the info? Have an A639-5060 that could need a new crystal?

Hey guys

I found the part at boley's.. This requires belonging to this operation... How do you put this crystal back into the case without using glue....

Thanks,

what country are you in?

You need a crystal press.

If the plastic gasket is still good it can be re-used.

What would the shape of the die and size?

Thanks,

The same as the crystal or as near as possible.

Some people even make their own out of wood.

Thanks,in USA. Would this not crack the crystal? Will give this a go... Will post results.

Thanks agin , honeybee50☺☺

As long as the die is as close to the edge of the crystal as possible it won't crack.
