Hi all,

Found the forum via a link from the YouTube channel while browsing watch related videos.

I'm from Bourne in Lincolnshire and have a big interest in watches particularly older Seiko divers, I currently have a 7002 and a nice turtle case 6309, I look forward to reading the threads and hopefully learning plenty, I have an old Seiko 5 which I plan to have a play about with once I've gained some more knowledge.

Have a good Christmas everyone.

A festive welcome to the forum Andy, and thank you for the informative first post. We have a few Seiko experts in the forum who will be able to give assistance if required.

Welcome to the forum from Florida, USA, Andy and good choice of first guinea pig watch!

As Geo said there are some Seiko experts around! Also, take plenty of pictures of your work so you always have a reference...buy good tools the first time (or you will be buying the same over and over again) and be very careful with the Seiko hairspring...they are really finicky. Other than that, enjoy our humble internet aboding AKA forum!

Cheers,

Hi Andy and welcome to the best watch forum going.

All I know about Bourne is that it was the home of Raymond Mays, English Racing Automobiles, and British Racing Motors. Hallowed ground as far as I'm concerned.

Merry Christmas

Thankyou for the welcomes, I've done plenty of reading over the holidays and really enjoyed reading the various topics and it's nice to see the advice openly shared on here, I've got a replacement dial on order for my 6309 which I have emailed Mark to ask if he can change for me as his workshop is very local to me, I have removed a movement from my old SKX to re align the chapter ring but have I think a dial change is best left to a pro for now.
