I need help and advice on a SW200-1 balance replacement

I'm about to replace the annular balance on a SW200-1 movement. It appears from the picture of the part in the Cousins or Gleaves catalogues that the part (#721/1) comes without the stud affixed to the end of the hairspring. 

The original part currently still fixed to the balance cock appears to be glued to the stud. 

Has anyone dealt with this problem? Do I have to dissolve that glue? What do I use to fix the new part into the stud? 

Is there a well known technique to doing this?

usually a balance complete which is what this is would come with the stud attached. I would find it extremely unlikely that it did not have a stud. This is because hairsprings are vibrated to specific balance wheels and the stud is part of that it has to be in a very exact location so it's not really something that you could glue in place after the fact.

I agree with John; I think they may be using a stock image of the base component, but it will come with the stud attached.

  I presume a pivot of your staff is broken, in which case this balance can be re-staffed, but if you don't have the required tools, get a studded balance complete.

 Didn't know there are still  sold without stud. I am not sure if they can be  called  balance COMPLETE, perhaps a studless balance complete.

The glue dissolves in acetone.

thanks guys - I'll let you know if the stud is attached when I get the part.

@Nucejoe Yes it is broken and yes I do have the tools to re-staff it but looking at Cousins it didn't show up a balance staff. Interestingly, the Sellita technical docs also don't itemise the parts down to that level. There was also a cracked jewel (2nd wheel Barrel Bridge side) and it was easier to buy the complete jeweled bridge for £13.

 Same staff should interchange between ETA 2824 and SW200-1.

I thought these watches had a protection system for balance pivots? Then the reason they don't break the parts down to balance staff is because its balance complete or nothing. That tends to be the trends today in modern watches

so much better if we look at a real image versus the generic on the website. this comes off of eBay a good source for finding pictures of watch parts. Although you do have to be careful as sometimes even they are using generic. But this definitely looks legit it will come with the stud.

With apologies for the late reply.... I can confirm that the 'complete' unit from Cousins did indeed come with the stud attached. Thanks to John and Nickle you were correct again.
