New balance arrived, but unfortunately it was a different size. The hairspring was pretty close to the original but the watch runs +15 mins per day fast! I may have to try and repair the original after all.

There must be a reason why that got bent , if dropped it could have caused other damage & it’s never good to try & straighten anything still in the movement although it’s probably not hardened. Dell

I can tell by your question that you are having doubts and that you feel disassembling it first is a safer method. Good thinking! 😉

I don't think doing it in situ is possible, it also needs a service, it's filthy. -

Not surprising really, the shock protection has gone but the cap jewel, which the pivot runs against is in place. Ugly attempt at repair though.
