Hello from the Mid-Atlantic United States.

I've been in the hobby for a few months and have concluded that I will be staying in it for a while. I've started to get some proper tools and I am looking forward to developing some skills. My current goal is to get comfortable enough to service / repair some watches I've inherited from family members. 

My current project is a Mentor pendent watch with a BF866 movement that belonged to my great aunt.

Inherited watches are very tricky. Some of them, or all, do have sentimental value, perhaps not to you but perhaps to others in the family. Ruining them doesn't make you popular.

Start on innocent watches who do no harm, not to your wallet nor to others 😉

BTW; for in the future it would be helpful to others to mention your location in your profile.
