Guess the X-Ray :-)

Recommended Posts

Hey folks!

I was in the radiology department when the X-Ray machine needed to make some test-scans for routine calibration. The technician jokingly asked if I had something I wanted an X-Ray of ... so naturally I handed him my watch. Can you guess the watch I wore by the scan?

X-Ray machine

In addition to x-rays does the machine have a byproduct of magnetic fields? Yes I know a better test for your watch would be with the MRI machine but what sort of magnetic fields does the x-ray machine produce and did it affect the timekeeping of the watch?

As far as I know an x-ray machine does not produce a significant magnetic field nor is it influenced by one. I am no expert on this matter however, so I might be wrong. I have not noticed any negative effects on timekeeping yet. I probably would not have done this with any of my older, more delicate watches though.
