Bulova accutron 218

I'm sure that this has been covered before but, 

I have one of the Accutron watches, I seam to remember that there was a movement that could replace the 218 movement. 

I have one the movement is no good it's just too far gone. 

I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me, I'm sure it's been done before.

Hi @antonyh,

I suspect you are about to get a few posts about this. Could you elaborate about your movement being "too far gone"? Have you seen what the movement looks like inside? Has the battery leaked? There are a number of 218 variants that are essentially identical in dimension and function but probably not any easier to source than the original movement.

Yes there was a quartz watch movement that even Bulova was using to replace they might have even had a kit for doing that but the movement's been discontinued. Now of course the trend is for the watches that were converted to get them converted back to a 218.
