Staking Sets

Hi all

Looking at buying a staking set and wondered if anyone had bought one of these and if they were any good.

I haven’t bought one myself but have heard that the punches are pretty soft and deform.

there is a good chance someone here has bought one of these Chinese sets and can make a better informed comment.

If they are anything like the chinese clone horias then the steel is definitely softer compared to the same tool in vintage. Not so much of a problem with a jewel pusher, a different story with a stake.

Hi I concur with the other two replies. Soft steel.  I have two staking tools including a home made one.  None are either K&D or any high branded names all are cape able of doing a good job.  Buy one you can afford, preferably Swiss, French , German any other quality piece.
