Help with HAC hands

Bearman

Recommended Posts

Evening,

I was wondering if anyone has any wisdom in terms of pointing me in the right direction of finding a minute (or probably new hour hand to) hand for my HAC (30hour/day) clock? Sadly it never came with one, when I rescued it from the local charity shop.

I've looked at Cousins, HS Walsh and ebay and the closest I've seen with rectangular minute hand fitting is one of those Euro quartz ones. Has anyone used/adapted these before?

The hour hand tube on the clock measures 5.3mm

The minute hand flat faces of the rectangular shape is 2.6mm, 4.2mm at the rounded ends.

Pictures attached, which I hope will help.

Thanks in advance.

You are going to have to shop around by using the internet such as ebay and all the clock hand suppliers. Any old clock repairers near you. Flea markets, car boot sales, auction houses. The design you need is called Spade which is common. It's the length you need. fitting you can use needle files to get the hand to fit. You never know a member on here might be able to help.
