Identify old key wind/set pocket watch

Recommended Posts

Picked up this watch in silver case.  It was a bargain, even if just for practice (new guy). Hand measurement is 38mm, only markings are: detached lever, 13 jewels, 6806, argent, and a tiny shield looking mark on inside of case that slightly resembles the london 1877 or 1880 date marks, but no other hallmarks.  6806 on face side of movement,  so case is original, and the letter "A" also on face side of movement.  Hope you like the hand drawn attempt at the hallmark, too tiny to get as a photo.20221107_102342.thumb.jpg.93604697f4654433e11cf7328308ab8e.jpg

I do have the full balance assembly, it's off to the side.  Hairspring was broken right where it attaches to the cock.  Have it threaded back thru the hole, but awaiting arrival of tweezers fine enough to replace the retention pin, and didn't want to move it from where it is to add to the pics unless needed.

Hi  Looks like a five bar swiss/french  movement.  Argent = meaning (silver)You may find a reference in the Mikrolisk web site    It has the stackfred/maltese cross limiter on the mainspring to equalise the torque (it uses the center portion of the mainspring only as the power source).  6806 on the case and movement indicates they are a matched pair (Original). Stauffer  made some like that one.
