I'm Tim and I'm a Waltham Guy

Hullo!

I'm a newcomer to watch collecting but have had several other serious collections over the course of my 60 years on the planet and sort of know how to dive right in with research and specialization. My alarm bell is set off by Waltham wristwatches, either gender, from the first half of the 20th Century, give or take. Obviously, if one is collecting watches from the 1920s and 1930s, breakage and repair becomes an enormous part of the equation and thus I find myself here.

I plan on doing a little bit of crystal repair pretty quickly here, but that's about as far as I plan on going with the repair aspect myself. But listening and asking questions and learning is an extremely important part of the collecting process.

Pocket watches really don't do it for me, I can't say why, but there is absolutely no doubt that Waltham's rich history as an American watchmaker is part of what has drawn the moth to the flame.

I'm from Oregon, on the west coast of the USA.

That's a nice thought but if you stick around listening and asking questions... you'll get the itch.  I mean you already have a preference so you're half way there.  It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Welcome.

What are your other collectables?
