Hello WRT

I have a question... I am currently working on a Rona pocket watch. It has the FE Cupillard 233-68 movement in it. I broke the mainspring, and now I am in need of another.

I checked on Ranfft, and I was able to get the dimensions. Barrel Dim = 10mm, spring width = 1.45, spring thickness = .01mm and the length = 350mm. I have checked Cousins, Esslingers, and Otto's. None of them have a mainspring that meets those dimensions. I have also checked the auction sites. No one seems to have a spring on those sites as well. I know this movement is a really weird one. I dont think getting a generic spring is a problem, but wanted to check here first. Also, does the spring have the match the original specs of the manufacturer?

Thanks,

-Drew

Apologies... I did not have the option to edit my post...

The thickness is .1mm  not .01mm

I don't see one either, except for a T end which won't work. Going down 0.05mm in height won't change anything functionally, and at this length +- 10mm doesn't change much either; they have a GR3666 1.40 x 0.10 x 340 which should work just fine.

This is a difficult one. The actual size is not available the nearest is GR 3955 NOT GR 3955 - T which Nickelsilver correctly points out is a T end spring. The best I can find that is available is  GR 3666 which is for a Bulova it is a touch under in height by.05 & .05 short in length. The important part is the strength which is correct and this spring should work .

Thank you both for the assist.

Clockboy, I clicked on the link and it took me to a page that has a list to choose from. I pasted "GR 3666" and nothing came back. I even tried "3666". That too came back with nothing found. The request, for quote, I sent in to Cousins was "canceled" . I am not having much luck at the moment. LOL!!

I did just send in another request for a quote for the "GR 3666" cal. I am waiting to hear back from them.

thank you both, again!

I actually found a generic spring with these dimensions...

1.40x0.110x10.00. According to the seller the 10.00 is the barrel size.

will this work for the above dimensions? I am guessing it will, but wanted to double check here first.

thank you all again for the assist.

I am pretty sure it has to be <--- User Error (code for me being Mr. Dumass).

I did just get a reply back from cousins for the GR3666. The dimensions are almost spot on. 1.4x.10x340x9.5. I am going to go ahead and get that one, and see where that takes me. Price is right, too. 7.30 pounds = just under $9. I will update if there is a change. Thank you all, again.
