3M makes sheets that go all the way up to 2000 grit.

Is your crystal glass or plastic?

I would go increasing the paper grit from your 600, to 1000, 1500 then 2000. You don't have to but $25 at a time (you can probably get 3M wet-or-dry at your local hardware).

Then after you have the scratches out, polish with something like polywatch.

Have a read below. Hoowever, the crystal seem to be curved on an axis only, so it can be replaced with a blank or one of approximate size, then cut to measure.

Even 2000 paper still leaves an haze. One need diamond paste for a perfect job.

Polywatch and it's equivalent mildb brasive compounds do little or nothing to mineral glass. They are made for plastic crystals only.

You need to go much finer than 600 grit, I go do 1200 then finish with a polishing compound applied with a felt wheel on a Dremel type tool.

Standard Polywatch does not on glass, if it's glass, they do a glass version that is a diamond paste, diamond lapping paste could also be  used, but I found the wet and dry and polishing compound route worked fine for me
