Need Help To Identify This Movement

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just aquired a movement from ebay for $50 I dont know if I got a deal but the movement works and looks very nice. The dial is a fludo and has some wear that I intend to get reprinted. Can someone verify that this is a Landeron 51 just by looking at it? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

It looks very similar to a Landeron 51, but the detail in the hammer is different. Have a look at the movement in this advert and you'll see what I mean.

The code letters WOA indicate an it is a Swiss ebauche by a company called Tower for supply to the USA, but I can't find info on them. What I will say is you have bought a very nicely made movement.

New cases for the fairly 'standard' twin-horizontal sub-dial chronos such as Landeron 248 and Valjoux 7733 aren't impossible to find - some suppliers have them as stock - but it's important to check general dimensions and the positioning of the chrono buttons, etc.

Good luck in your search.

Will
