Why? Don't know, but there should be a slight notch at either 12 or around 6. It's hard to locate without loupe.

Other old Dunhill has 4 screws. Mind has nothing, Even look with loupe shows no notch at all. Smooth all round.

If it has a hatch for battery replacement it may be, like my early Seiko 3803-7040, a 'front loader' with only access to the movement by removing the crystal.....

Not all snap casebacks have notches, but that is more frequent with contemporary Swiss watches.
Please post good pictures back front and side.
