Replacing spring barrel

Hi. I'm new to this site... or any one, for that matter. I have been collecting pocket watches for around three years, though I bought my first at 16.

I developed the collecting bug while looking to replace the worn case of a brand new Excalibur watch I bought in 1980 with birthday money.. Once I started looking I was amazed by the variety and beauty of them and bought a Stova 1947/8. But found I could not stop.

More ecently I have been cleaning and repairing them, learning as I go, using parts from damaged watches to reapir others. In a job lot I bought recently (incidentally containing a new case for the watch that started my interest.) I found a Swiss watch that needs a new Spring barrel. The watch is marked Cal 30... and my question, if anyone can help, is: can I boy ANY cal 30 barrel to replace it?  There is no makers mark, so I can't go down that route.

Thanks

Base calibers may have a larger family generation with various bridge layout all to be  identified by the keyless. all indication under dial side of same variant match.

Make a note of variants off of Dr ranfft website, go to julesborel.com to see some of what interchanges.

Good luck.
