Are any of these clocks worth getting hold of?

I am looking at getting some old clocks to restore to give to some of my children. Two of them would love it. The other two I am not so sure.

Anyway, are any of the following worth looking at?

I think that these 3 are Chinese copies of something as I cannot find any reference to the brands anywhere.

This Ansonia has a fair bit of damage to the dial.

I can't seem to find these online either? Chinese again?

The sticker on this Haller Anniversary stats that it is not working. Looking at the clock, I would suggest it just needs a service as everything in the movement looks really good.

I don't know the brand from this one. Searching online using R=A returned answers that these pendulums were sold to many clock makers.

The Antique clock looks nice. Started when I turned it round to have a squiz. No brand. I am not sure what has happened to the centre of the dial?

Cuckoo clock. Who doesn't like a cuckoo clock?

Howard Miller clock. The brass handle at the top only has the base. The hoop on the handle is missing.

The unbranded clock looks nice as well.

This Thomas Mitchell looks good, but the front right foot has been badly chipped.

And that is it. One of the photos got attached twice. I tried editing the post, but the time must have elapsed that allows a post to be edited.

I am not aware f any of the movements in these. I would wait for some advice from you guys and then get a look at the movements and post somer more photos up.

Other than that, I am going to start saving my pennies for a mainspring winder. They are an expensive bit of kit.

Hello Michael  Unfortunatly  no pictures so cannot see the clocks you refer to.    Any clock is worth fixing even if just for the fun of it and the experience gained.   can you post the pics again.  Love cuckoo clocks but they drive the missus daft with the cuckoo and the tick so they are banished to the workshop. look forward to the pics.

Ahh   got the pics on second post.  The Ansonia  (Gingerbread clock) Nice clock and reasonably straight forward to do and plenty of Info. Cuckoo clock is missing its top embellisment but they can be had on ebay, looks like it might have the regula 25 movement Nice little clock worth doing.  The one using th R&A pendulum  means advance and retard ... fast/slow   nice shape again possibly an ansonia. The Haller Anniversary clock is a yes, I am a sucker for these clocks and daren't purchase any more as I have several.  The wall clocks look modern and if un marked probably foreign  Still they can be good clocks I have three two probably chinese and one Korean and good runners.  The problem is the choice.  !. Ansonia,  2 Cuckoo,  3 Haller, 4 R & A  Ansonia. ? .  Just my preference.

First photo all modern leave well alone.

Second photo as watchweasol says is a Gingerbread clock American very collectable. It is a strike.

Fifth photo another American Strike not so collectable s the Gingerbread, depends on the condition of the case.

Sixth English. It’s a strike with a probably a presentation plate so you should get a good date.

I wouldn’t bother with any of the others.

I am trying to work out whether your comment is fair dinkum? The chance of seeing a French clock in Australia is unlikely. I only found these by trawling through a place we have called the Mill Markets.

To those on here who are familiar with the narrowed down list of these, a re the prices being asked reasonable?

I have no idea as to wether I am looking at paying too much?

The list I put up I would say in English £

1, £50

2,£30

3,£50

Well the first conversion to AUD is;

1) $91.84. Price on the clock is $395

2) $55.10. Price on the clock IIRC is $300

3) $91.84. Price on the clock is $195

So even if you add in rarity factor in that I am down here in the colonies, these all look overpriced?

I haven't even had a look at any of the movements.

Michael, I had a look at the market in Australia and didn’t realise just how hard it is to get older clocks, and so therefore the prices are generally high. If it were me, I’d see if you can get anyone to ship to you from Europe.

And based on your pricing, I would only think the English clock is the only one to consider. You are correct. It does have the small plaque saying that it was presented at a wedding to the bride and groom. Can't work out what has happened to the dial in the middle.

Mind you, I do like the look of the clock with the angled case. It's dial is in good nick as well.

I'll have a look at clocks over in the UK as well. I keep getting a site called Etsy coming up as well. USA?
