I want to change the day&date wheels to black. The part number for the day wheel is 801 601.

I couldn't find an exact part number that matches and is black. Can it be replaced with 801 013 or 801 012?

I cannot confirm your specific question, but Seiko has watches using the same movement that have the crown at 3:00 and with the crown at 4:00. Using the wrong day or date wheel will cause misalignment of the display.

Only the day disc is specific to the crown position. The same date ring aligns with cases having the the crown either at 3 or 4:20 hours.
