Hi guys, I was looking through my emails today and clicked on a link to do with holidays then this appeared:-

I don't want to click on this link and cannot get back to where I was because everything else is greased out. I have tried switching off the IPad and rebooting it, but as soon as I click on Google Chrome, there it is. I was going to re-instal the program, but I will loose all saved data.

To get going again I have installed Google. Is there a way to get rid if this damn thing without re-installing Chrome? What if I wait until the next update, would that get rid of it?

I managed to find the answer by installing Google and doing a search. Here it is just in case anyone else has this problem:-

If you double tap the home button then swipe away the app in question it will force quit the app without the need to reboot.

I hate when they hijack the phones and computers with adware and viruses! Glad you could solve it, Geo! Not being an Apple user/fan, my experience with those is fairly limited.

I tried that first Mark and it didn't work, it still started up with the page as shown. The only way I could shut down the app completely was with the method illustrated. It had me worried for a while!

Many thanks for the suggestions guys.
