Hi All,

I have finished servicing an old Seiko 5 7009 movement today. Keeping good time and apart from a rust bearing in the rotor (Cant really do anything with that I think).

I did have the unfortunate event of the pinion and stake coming out of the centre wheel. I do not have a staking tool, so fixed this with using a pin vice and made sure it was back in straight. From the way it is running now it all seems fine.

Are there any tips in the future if this happens again and not having access to a staking tool? The way I did it seemed a very hard way to do it.

If you're going to try find one, don't look for a center wheel, that's the 4th wheel (sometimes called seconds wheel as it holds the seconds hand)
