12 Hour/24 Hour Relative To A Font72 Movement

here is the question:  the font 72 movement I found comes in two versions...one for a 24-hour dial and one for a 12-hour dial...is the conversion from 12-hour to 24-hour just an issue of changing the hour and minute wheel or would other parts need to be addressed....thanks...

Good question rattandson, I'd also would like to hear an answer to this. In my mind it should be the hour wheel but I can't really say.

Most of the watches with 24hrs are a development of a normal 12hr watch.

 

Glycine used a an additional wheel on top of the minute wheel, the original hour wheel drives an intermediate reduction wheel which runs the 24hr wheel.

 

In the photo below, the 24hr intermediate wheel is at 6 o'clock.

 

 

ps.. this would be an AS1700/01 based.
