Hello everyone!

First Mark's video i watched was "How to service a quartz movement. ETA 955.412". More than a year ago. Needless to say i found it mesmerizing, and watched as many of them as i could in one go.
Been following his channel and this forum since.

As i am neither watchmaker nor collector, I haven't much to contribute to the forum. Yet. (Or maybe ever.)
But if anyone have any question regarding russian watches or texts in Russian, feel free to ask. Russian is my first language.

Welcome Denis,  You will find lots of interest on these forums and in time might be tempted to have a go.

 

On a different note,  do not believe all you read in the UK newspapers as a lot of people like Mr Putin and I'm one of them.

Welcome to the forum Denis. I could greet you in Russian -- I learned some many years back from a girl friend -- but I'm not set up for Cyrillic which might as well be a blessing since I don't want to write the wrong thing now and make a bad impression! :)

Bob, don't worry about it. As long as we have at least one common language between us, we should be set. But, willingness to learn Russian is commendable, even if it is only a few words!

I certainly can read and understand it, great test. Not the usual autotranslated garbage.

 

P.S. Russian text it says:

"Good evening Denis, I just found use for translator for my IPad and thought to give it a try. I can't say a word in Russian, so i thought, it would be a good test. Please, let me know, if you can read that. I hope, you are enjoying watch repair forum"

Fantastic news Denis, I've tried some others with horrible results. I couldn't miss the chance to give this one the ultimate test.

Many thanks indeed for getting back to me with the results.

I used it this afternoon to sort out a deal from Germany, it saved me a few pounds and gave me confidence to purchase the item.
