Bad Day At The Office

They things come in three,s Well here goes:

1.

Fitted a new oscillating bearing to a watch & clearly it was faulty so re-ordered.

2. 

Ordered a while ago (NOT Cousins) a used but good watch movement for spares etc. What arrived was a watch strap. Complained no reply as yet.

3.

The cat has just knocked over a cup of coffee in my main Mac keyboard. Hoping it will clean off with some warm water and dry out.

Oh gawd - coffee in the keyboard. I spilled a drop of coffee into the pad area on my Mac Book some months ago, and the mouse bit seized up - had to fit an external mouse until I could get it cleaned...

Get yourself a large glass of Brandy (or tea) and relax. It's the weekend now.

 

That really sucks about your keyboard, they are not cheap (the apple ones).

I have cleaned as best I can with warm water and give it a quick blast with a hair dryer and put it in a airing cupboard and now hoping for a miracle.

A friend of mine found this method worked after dropping his iPhone in a pond. He was told not to turn it on until it was 100% dry & it worked.

Hoping for the same result.

The worst thing about a coffee spill is if you have sugar in it. One big sticky mess.

I use to see at least one laptop a week come in claiming they had done nothing to it. Open it up and lo the stickiness.

Anyway chilled out now had grandson around and one of his first words is GRANDDAD. Cheered me up big time.

Should be ok. Did you take the keyboard completely apart to clean and dry?

Not completely but did take the most effected keys off

Hmm. Hope it'll be ok but best bet is to take pic of keyboard to remember where they go , take em all off and clean all with microfibre dipped in very hot water.

Microfibre will absorb all coffee and the hot water will evaporate quicker.

Ok thanks I did more or less what you suggested . It is in the airing cupboard now for the weekend I still have my macbook pro for any computing requirements.
