Hi Mark

I have a Lancashire Watch Co. pocket watch, it has 7 jewels. The centre wheel as in your military Omega is loose due to a worn bridge hole which has elongated over time. There is no bush to remove/replace and I was wondering what the best course of action is. Do I fit a jewel in the bridge and if so what kit do I need.?

My nephew inherited the watch from his grandfather and of course it has sentimental value so I would like to get it working again for him.

The detail I have is: manufactured by the Lancashire Watch co Prestcot in 1901.

Has the pivot worn? If so, it needs to be put in a lathe and cleaned up. Providing it leaves a good size pivot. You can re-bush using a pocket watch brass bush or a jewel if you can find the correct size. The easiest is to fit brass. You could do this by hand by buying reamers or if you have a Jewel fitting tool you could use that, do not forget to remove any burr. No jeweling tool. You will need a flat end stake and small hammer and tap in. Jeweling tool you have the stakes so you select the right size.
