Balance Spring

Recommended Posts

I have this gorgeous 18k gold 17 rubis watch. It hasnt been working for a bit but i never bothered to look at why.

I looked tonight because I was going to list it for sale. And i found the really thin coil balance spring has popped out. I dont want to be paying to have it fixed. I'm pretty good repairing things once ive been given instuctions.

Is there anyone who may be able to help me? Pleaseee

Do you have watchmaking tools ? (for this one you're going to meed a lot more than a loupe and screwdrivers)

Do you have experience with repairing watches ?

This job is pretty difficult so a beginner can't/shouldn't do this.

Basically you're going to either have to buy just the hairspring and have it replaced or the entire balance complete as it's called...

Given that it's a vintage watch it's not going to be easy. Most likely hairsprings from other movements might fit but it's not gonna be easy to find the one needed.
