A member of another forum was giving away 4 watches - 3 HMT Indian models and 1 Chinese - to the first person to get in touch with him. All runners, no guarantees - perhaps NOS. So I jumped in - and I get them tomorrow (I hope). No straps or lug pins, but that's no problem. We'll see what they're like...

And that's 4 more for an amazing collection! Good move Will, they look very clean! By the way, Kohinoor, isn't that a Czech reference? Like the professional/presicion drawing instruments?

They arrived this morning - simple but OK and in very good nick with just a bit of wear and oil here and there. Pics:

Yup - they're nothing special - probably about a tenner each on eBay - but better than a slap in the eye with a wet fish! :woohoo-jumping-smiley-emoticon:

Very nice. Like the Vijay.

BTW whats up with the Chunlei? Did you adjust it that far? Was it running way too fast?

I haven't touched it as I just wanted to see how it's running. It was wound and set at 10am'ish this morning and is spot on to the second as I write this (10.46pm).

Working well then. Just looked over adjusted.

Hah, shame the forum clock is not as accurate. Your post is showing 22:13.

Caravelles have nice movements - better than HMT - but you can see where the Indian designers got their ideas for tooling up from!

I ordered some cheap straps for the freebie watches and they arrived this morning. I'm contemplating putting at least three of the watches on eBay (the fourth one - the Vijay - has the rogue case back...). However, if anyone on the forum wants one for a tenner plus postage - either as a keeper or to tinker with - I'm happy to oblige. I'm going to give anything I make on them to the Spina Bifida Association. (I had a younger brother who died from Spina Bifida, age two months, so it's a cause I support).
