eta 2824 issues

issues with an eta 2824 automatic movement....hand-winding is great until I put the rotor on the auto plate then the hand winding is impossible....rotor spins with each turn of the crown and I REALLY need to struggle to turn the crown...issue with worn reversing wheels??..thanks

You may get lucky and get away with cleaning the reverser wheels to flush out any muck or old oil, and then relubing by immersing in a bath of 9010 diluted 1:30 with naphtha. This has worked well for me many times.

The biggest mistake with these wheels is over oiling. The 30:1 naphtha/9010 mix gets around this as the naphtha evaporates and leaves an almost microscopic coating of 9010 behind; more than that causes problems. You could also use Lubeta which is made specifically for this purpose, although ETA would rather you just replace the wheels every time.
