Seiko 2206A Cleaning

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody!

I opened a Seiko 2206A today and I stumbled on at least two parts that I don't know how to deal with. I attached two photos.

My questions: Do I dismantle them? If yes, how? If no, how do I clean and oil them?

Thank you,

Bogdan

Dear Bogdan,

First pic.

This will not directly affect the running of the watch but may hide dirt etc which may get dislodged and later cause problems.

Second pic

The plain circle at top right (still within the oval you drew) looks like the base of a screw. You'll probably find a screw on the other side of the plate.

Hello, and thank you for the reply. I washed them as good as I could (don't have a washing mashine nor an ultrasonic one... yet). I oiled them as the service manual suggested. Both parts were "complete" - I didn't dismantle them(I was afraid I would bend/break them).

p.s. For the second pic - there were no screwes but only the wheels on the bolts;
