In many of my watch and clock books they refer to using 'watch paper' which I take it is just a lint free tissue paper for holding movements to stop tarnishing.

Does anyone here use them, or do you all just buy those latex finger cots.

I can see the finger cots being more useful for watches whilst tissue paper may be more useful for clocks.

In a couple of weeks I will be placing my next order of supplies from Cousins and besides watch oils I'm thinking about what else to add to my list.

I used tissue paper after washing out the watch hairsprings in ronsonol lighter fluid, lay the hairspring on the tissue paper and gently use the rubber blower to dry.

Also, I find it great for drying jewels and jewel assemblies: I use one-dip, then "drop" them on the paper and fold it so I can dry the top (not really necessary just overkill since evaporation does its part). Another use is for balance assemblies, same procedure but without the folding, instead I do tweezers and blower mostly.

One box will last you a lifetime!

Cheers,

Bob
