Time Grapher

Hey all,

Can anybody suggest a good timegrapher machine, which is not overly dare for a beginner?

I see quite a few on ebay for eg

(The second one can test in six orientations)

Has any of you tried these chinese versions of witschi?

I would love to hear from you all before I invest my moolah into'em.

Good morning Ash, for some reason the links don't work for me.

What I can tell you is I purchased a Timegrapher 1000 about two years ago from China. This has served me very well and I highly recommend it. It can be used to check watches in all positions.

Yea Im looking at same model. Check out this listing # 310972879917 on ebay..

He has got awesome feedback and he gives 1 yr warranty.. He is from US and has a physical shop so yea, I get a good feel about that.

Im not sure if it can test in 6 positions though. I have asked him the question. Waiting for his response

I brought this one, off this seller after a recommendation from someone, its a Chinese job, but has served me well so far & is ideal to use until you get a feel for things.

That's the same one as the one I have. The transducer that hold the watch swivels in two planes and allows you get the positions that you require.

Question - how exactly do u test in 6 positions?

Basically you take the readings from the following positions and see how they compare.

Dial up

Dial down

12 up

12 down

9 up

9 down

With a very limited budget I purchased a timegrapher 1900, 3 months ago. So far it has been perfect for my needs. I don,t know how I  managed without one before. If it has a fault the instructions supplied are very basic and experimentation is required.

Also a list of watch movement lift angles.
