Dear all,

Mark's video on lining up a hairspring so that it is 'in beat' refers to a fixed balance cock. If you have a beat corrector, is there a datum point to start from?

This is from an FHF STD 69-21, and you would want the regulator pointer to be centered, and as you can see, there is not much range of movement for the beat corrector. Is it possible that the stud mounting should be the other side of the regulator?

Regards,

Frank.

If You are out of range with the regulator then the collet on the balance should be moved. I would put the regulator to middle position, set the hairspring collet respect to the impulse jewel like in Marks video and finally set the beat with the fine regulator according to the timing computer.
