Bach to the future

Recommended Posts

Will, I'm getting a blank page with your link and I reaaaaally want to hear you as it is one of my favorites pieces! I would also, with your permission, like to add it to my music collection if at all possible!

Rostropovich does a real good job of this little jewel so I studied his style I try to play it in my guitar accordingly (my preferred guitar for these suites: Ramirez, Concert Guitar, 1979) It is not too bad to pretend I'm actually playing the cello for a change when I play the suites! :)

The one you usually hear by many is the Prelude from the No. 1 in G major, one more reason to treasure your interpretation. I love that one too!

Cheers,

Bob

Will, you have very good guitar tone. I know that because I don't.

I play in a small recorder ensemble and we read a lot of Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann, A. Scarlatti, and others of that ilk; seldom Bach; I don't know why. There are many arrangements of Suites for recorder that aren't that difficult to play; perhaps the name scares people away.

Excellent Bach, however. I was wondering if you might like to repost this to the music blog.

How many of the cello suites do you play? Just curious.

A university course on proprioceptive writing issued a CD set of the cello suites to aid concentration. I told them I'd be able to concentrate better with silence because listening to the cello suites made it impossible for me to concentrate  on anything else.
