Intro!

I really do like Pina Colada's (and moreso painkillers) and at least sitting on the porch in the rain...but I don't think that's the intro we're looking for.

Based in north atlanta area.  Long term watch enthusiast but wasn't active online or 'collecting' until more recently.  I have spent years with my main hobby being centered around building/rebuilding/driving vintage land rovers and other trucks and loved the mechanical and modular architecture of the vehicles, this now led to exploring mechanical watches. 

My son (23) is interested in long term becoming a watchmaker and is in the middle of applying to  a couple of schools (he's currently in automotive school), so taking advantage of some down time from work, my son and I took a 1 week watchmaking class at AWCI with some fantastic instructors that inspired me to go deeper, and reaffirmed my son's interest.  Subsequently, we've set up some benches and are moving forward with practice and learning.  Some amazing information and wisdom on this site that has already been a big help for me.  Thanks.
