Scratched An Itch And Finally Got Seiko Automatic Chronograph 6138-0011 Ufo

Hi All , I recently went to a collectors show here in Honolulu and one of the few venders selling watches was wearing one of these 6138 - 0011 nicknamed UFO Seiko watches . I had to have one .

 I'm surprised how hefty it is on the wrist . This one has the original sold link bracelets particular to this watch , with all the links included .

  I have a new bezel and insert for the UFO I received a couple of years ago when I got a 6139 -7100 "Helmet " project watch which took me a few months to put together and tune the chronograph portion .

I just remembered that the UFO is also called "Yachtman" , ...The Helmet is also called "Vader" , after Darth Vader's Helmet....

Thank You ro63rto . ...This one has has acrylic crystal that someone had installed . It just doesn't look right to me as the original was a hardlex mineral glass crystal that is very difficult if not impossible to find .  A member of the Seiko and Citizen Watch Forum had some A M tempered mineral glass replacements made so I've ordered one and it's on its way to me .

I just picked up another Seiko 6138 - 0011 for $125 less then the first one . Needs some TLC . Original owner in the military that wore it until the small sub hand fell off and is still under the crystal . He said it wasn't dropped or anything like that and had been regular serviced previously......I hope so .  

  I'm also hoping that it has the original solid link bracelet like my first one . It looks similar in the photo .

WOW! i like those chronos. especially the UFOs. and that black and red bezel is very nice.

i've got a few (not UFOs) that i need to get pushers, a stem and proper crown bought for.  two of them run great, but on one you have to use a tiny screwdriver to operate the chrono. and, they all zero out just like they should. my third one is basically pieces.
