One that springs to mind Richard is the solid ones either milled into the plate or bridge are more difficult for someone to bugger up.

Basically I think you're seeing an evolution. At one time the banking pins removable and of course you moved him because are fun to move who cares if they screw up everything. Then they switch to solid banking pins that were not movable but you could still bend them a little bit a little bit of tweaking perhaps. And finally the just milled into the plate as they can mill the plates to very close tolerances and they no longer need movable banking pins because everything is made to such high tolerances.

If someone has changed milled plate banking there's no going back 🤣 . Actually it is possible to retrieve it.
