I've been busy, but I had to have those 3 finished! They are all vintage diving Seikos (and/or Sport models) and a Casio. I also wanted to make some sort of conservative mods out of the originals. Some have the more modern 4r36 or NH36 movement and some the original and rebuilt 7S26/7S36, the Casio had a Miyota 6M12 that was substituted for a cheapo but working Hattori from a cheapo watch ...now with all the pictures, I can't remember where!

Some before pictures:

No before (but really bad) to have an idea, this is a sample picture of how I get them:

and after, the pepsi one is still in progress (fitting stem, etc):

Some of the hands were from ofrei but they are not always available. They also require some fitting since they tend to go oversize, specially the minute hand.

Hope you enjoyed!

Cheers,

It's good to have you back in full flow Bob! That Pepsi looked that bad, I would probably have put it in the bin, it's sterling work your doing on it. :)

Thanks Geo. Some of the case refinishing I do I learned from this forum...and mostly from you! :) I do the trick with the stick contoured in the shape of the surface to sand and all. Just trying to get better at it...I was never a good student, master! :)

In any case, the dilapidated Seiko in the "before" picture is the state I get the watch in, then I try to do something about it. This specific model the 4205 is a work in progress that will have pictures after I'm done. Thank you for the encouragement!

Cheers,

Hi Dave,

Thank you and no, the 4205 is an illustration of how I get them since I didn't take any "before picture" for the other models. As ro63rto said, those are Ramon's watches from ebay...sort of project and parts stuff. Most are ready to be thrown away. The models illustrated are 7s26-0050, 7S26-01G0, 7S36-01X0 and the first "stargate" Seiko 7S36-00Y0. They have now either a rebuilt 7S36 or 7S26 or a brand new NH36 or 4R36 from Cousins.

I'm still working on the 4205's on and off. I'll post pictures when they are done.

Cheers,

Bob

What am I like! Re-read your post and realised there was no 4205 "after" photo anyway.  I can only blame it on the paint fumes from the redecorating that I am lumbered with

I do look forward to seeing them when you're finished.

PS

I have just received another 3 4205's from Ramon myself. Once I get everything done here decorating-wise I can get on with something more worthwhile.
