I've worked on machine tools at that RR site - finding the town like going along farm tracks for what seems like miles! Very strange place to get to, I think the town was just to house the Rolls Royce site workers originally. It's a "Static turbine" manufacturing site, or was when I was there; making the non-rotating blade discs that direct air into & between the rotating compressor discs. -
I had to zoom in because I thought this was another of @Neverenoughwatches's DIY cleaning machine contraptions we hadn't seen yet. But no, it's just a gooseneck lamp base with a lot of loupes on it.

Like Gorilla Glue maybe. It's reasonable that corrosion bled through adjacent coils if it wasn't wound/unwound in a while, causing a weak spot radially throughout the whole spring.

Yes and thats the issue with your watch. Detach balance complete and cock. Remove stud carrier and regulator arm off balance cock and replace properly. Next hairspring needs sorting out before instalation I am not sure if this is the right balance complete, you will find out though.

Usually engraved on movements is the number of positions its adjusted in. I remember nickelsiver said some importers didn't want such engraving to evade extra charges levied on pricy pieces. I bought mine while in the USA, curious to see if it mentions No of adjusts or not. As precise it keeps time though, must have multiple adjusts and a chronobrade. Regs
