No before pics, but non runner, no crown, scratched crystal.

Was the first watch I rebuilt 2 weeks ago and it runs fantastic now.

Cost £3. Bought as a scrapper to practice on and see what happens.

So it arrived this morning and the rotor is very sloppy.

I'm hoping @JerseyMo will be able to confirm if the bars top and bottom holding the movement in are correct?

yes, that is the movement holder.   It is just a bit of bent wire that sits inside the case.  Note that there is s "V" shape that should push the movement down.   The rotors do get sloppy since they are just press fitted.  You can try to pin down the area some but go lightly.  Two scre3s hold it on the movement. take those off first before removing the movement holder \ clip.

I've got other rotors I think are in better shape so will look at just swapping it out.

$10.50usd awarded me this cool REGO SPORT "chronograph" with a Lapanouse pin lever movement on ebay. I bought it specifically for the challenge, as it looked like it had spent some time in the pool.

Some deep cleaning, over polishing, shotty hairspring work and a $7 parts movement for a replacement pin pallet and Today it is on my wrist and keeping great time over the past 6 hours.

What is the "chrono" in real life? What do the pushers do? Without being able to see the guts under that full plate, it looks like a plane jane three hander.

It just starts and stops the watch. The upper sub dial registers in 30 minute increments, the lower sub dial in 6 hour increments. You could theoretically set the watch to 12:00 and use the chrono buttons to time something? Lol idk

Sorry, only the second hand stops with the top pusher and starts with the bottom. The rest of the watch runs.

Set the watch to 12:00 lol 

I found this on the interwebs-

"Calling this movement a chronograph is generous. Technically, it is, but its limited features has it referred to as a "lap timer" by some.

The chronograph's upper sub dial registers 45 minute increments while the lower totalizes 6 hours. As shown in the above image, one must manually advance the time to 12 o'clock sharp and allow the seconds hand to reach 12, too. Pressing the top chrono pusher will stop the seconds hand.

One the bottom pusher is deployed, the time advanced until the top pusher is pressed. The above shows 45 minutes having passed. The top chrono hand made on full revolution for it measures 45 minutes only. The bottom register stopped at the 45 minute sub dial indicator, one tick mark before the 1 hour spot. To regain the current time, one has to refer to another timepiece and re-adjust using the tradition push-pull crown."

I absolutely love clever ways to short circuit otherwise overly complicated things. I.e., dual inner rotating bezels and a three hand movement in lieu of a full fat chronograph a la Bulova Type A-15. That comes close, but doesn't quite bridge the usability gap. Still, very cool movement!

Its the loudest watch I've ever heard run. My wife thinks a man must've drowned wearing it and it's haunted.

Here is my Marlin from 1971. I have the original luminous sweep second hand but grabbed a 25 from another watch and it did not quite want to fit on the pivot. Is kind of rough, but looks good on this Barton silicon elite that I probably paid more for than the watch!

A little IPA and a swab got the black elapsed time ring numbers and hash marks cleaned up!

Does look great. It is so hard to find Timexes with bezels that haven't been totally worn away.

Another one from eBay that I saw and couldn't resist at £6.50 + £4.00 Delivery so think it meets the criteria.

Looks new and boxed but will have to wait and see what condition the old battery is in!!!

I've never seen a digital Russian watch. Seems obvious they'd exist, and I'm sure my mechanical focus biases such things, but that is the first I've seen. Shipping doesn't count toward the "entry fee" in my book so long as it's reasonable. I.e., no $0.01 watches with $99 shipping, as that's obviously a $99 watch with a pricing gimmick. Nice score!
