Who made them, good, bad or indifferent quality, age?

This (at least the ones with the movement pictures) are usual alarm clocks in cheap 'carriage clock' cases made of tin, from the beginning of 20th century. They are cheap, almost all big alarm clock manufacturers like Junghabs, GB, Haller, Kienzle... made such clocks. There are ones with latern music box, they are more interesting, but the quality is the same. Often the music box is badly damaged (broken). You can find some with cases made of chromed brass, and some with chromed iron cases. The iron ones get rusty and verry hard to restore. The movements are normal alarm clocks and restoring them is routine task, nothing unusual.
