Seeking buying advice: Jacot tool

You won’t regret it! The slightest rust, oxidation, or deformation affects the amplitude more than one might think. It is (was!?) possible to find Steiner Jacot tools in good condition for quite a little money if you search actively and have patience. Sometimes it can pay off to search in languages other than English, which I discuss in this post.

Couple of years ago, I bought the Jacot tool to polish the rusty pivots on balance stuff for 1937 Tissot pocket watch.

It was not expensive on ebay and I didn't ask seller the one very important question: What is the size of rollers included in the set?

So, I got 3 rollers with bigger pivot size but the one which I actually need is the smaller one with markings: 4-16 which means the pivot size of 0.040 - 0.160.

I tried very hard to find the roller and not buying the whole set again but I was unsuccessful so I gave up searching. 

Now I read this post and looking for the help to source the roller I need. I can't afford Horia roller (450 CHF).

So if anybody has any suggestion and direction, I would appreciate it very much.

Question about the bed shape. Are these beds worn horribly or did they come from the factory rounded like that? I've read somewhere that the beds should be V-shaped and if that's the case this tool was beaten to death.

I only advise buying another used Jacot tool with the runners you need. Then sell your old Jacot to get some of your money back. Best of luck!

Ok thanks. After I thought about it more I figured they can't be worn since the groove is uniformly shaped and deep front to back all the way. If they were worn it should show only where the pivot sits which is the front end. I just have to do some cleaning, there's some gunk in a couple of beds.
