Bulova alarm clock repair

I don't know much about clocks, but this lovely Bulova alarm clock was too nice to pass up.

When I wind it, the alarm works and the mechanism ticks, but the hands don't seem to move. I can set it, but it doesn't run on its own.

I am only able to wind it a few turns before it stops. It looks like a very standard pin pallet movement inside, so I figured I could at least tear down and clean it up.

Problem is, I'm already stuck getting the hands off. I tried levers and a Presto tool, to no avail. Do I just need to pull harder, or does this work differently from a watch movement?

It does look like the alarm hand is held in place by a swage on the center shaft, so I'm not sure what to do there.

Ok here it is. I guess that answers my question about age, doesn't it?

Still haven't been able to get the hands off. While I can work on it in the case, I feel like I'm going to have to get the hands off at some point to do this properly. Do I need something like the very expensive #7 Presto tool? Or the even more expensive #4?

I'm not sure if they are robust enough for clocks. Usually clock makers use clock hand removers.

Try dripping a drop of penetrating oil on seconds pivot and leaving it overnight.

The hands just pull off. Use a pair of nippers to get them off. The movement is low quality just the balance jeweled. Looks very much like the vintage europa travel alarm clock movement. See photo
