Devil diver bezel won't lock down.

My dive watch bezel will not seat correctly. I've pushed down and turned and I tried a press. I assume that when installing the spring should expand out and when it is all the way down spring back and lock on to the case.  My spring does not seam to be expanding.  Any hints?

Have a good look to make sure there is no damage to the spring, a kink that might be stopping it from pressing into place. The rim that it presses onto has bevel to allow the spring to expand over then click into the groove behind. Check this is undamaged then a light smear of silcone or silcone spray might help the spring slip over the chamfer.

Maybe it's the shadows, but this corner seems to be jutting out.
