Eyup watch peeps i hope you are all well. As the title says this is about spare parts, spare parts from old watches. A lot of watches in fact a really really lot of watches.  So yeah i did a thing , not a bad thing , just a thing, the sort of thing that i do when I'm hunting for watches, or tools, or equipment, or horology books, or well anything watch related. So that thing entailed buying 29 trays of mixed watch parts, that i now have to spend the next 3 years seperating, identifying and categorising 🙂. Seriously it was an offer too good to bypass, a lot may not be of any use but certainly some of it will be. Its a mixture of secondhand and new old stock . I must have picked out at least 1000 barrels already, no idea of the condition until i open them.  Hundreds of shock settings mostly inca to be stripped from the balance cocks. Plates and bridges for the jewels etc, keyless works, stems, crowns everything but the balances which is a shame as they would have been a good source for timing washers and screws. Hopefully not all in vein, i wont know until i start taking things apart and measuring. If anything it is fantastic practice and i have in fact already salvaged a screw in plated cap jewel that was holding me back restoring the AHS 43 from last week. Also a great test for the newly aquired Star jewelling tool that is pushing jewels out ten to the dozen. So here is my lot, any ideas of how to deal with it all and its usefulness are most welcome. 🙂

Wow! Looks like an abattoir.

Pretty much. So much to sort through, I'm just hoping for a good mix of sizes of everthing.
