Black Forest cuckoo clock

This is my first cuckoo clock project. Still have issues with it such as the jumping rabbits are sluggish. It is a Black Forest cuckoo clock with cuckoo,rotating dancers, rotating water mill and music box. The movement is a Regula 34 which is in good order. It runs for approx 4 days with a full wind of the chain and it keeps excellent time.

Only 4 days that is a bit odd, are you sure the chains haven't been altered to fit a home with a low ceiling. Looks good and every thing works well. My two cats would love to play with the weights and chains.

I once asked a seller whether the movement is a 1 day or 8 day movement. The reply was, "If you put a long enough chain, it should run for 8 days."

No weights then.

I did wonder about the chains being altered. The weights do drop quickly but as this is my first cuckoo clock I am guessing. See pics of the test stand I purchased + book purchased.

Can you imagine hanging a 1 day clock off your balcony on the 8th floor with 8 days worth of chains?

I never got back to the seller.
