3D printed case for an 0s pocket watch--experimenting

Recommended Posts

I mentioned this in a thread related to the watch but decided to move the discussion to Case Issues.\

Here is a crude attempt it mounting the watch in a 3D printed ring and securing it with a cover.  The cover locks in the crystal and holds the movement solid.

Still pondering how to handle the stem which is old style pocket watch that uses a sleeve.

Anyway...it is a start.

Happily, I have a zillion pocket watch crystals that I can choose from to make fitting easy.

nice work. a few questions

1. is it important to have some breathing holes in the case ? to allow moisture in/out ?

2.  is it just friction fit close ? do you intend to have the top screw in to close ?

what have you learnt since this one was printed ? is there anything you would change?
